Operation Dalmation is a social experiment that I dreamed up in February 2004 as a means to fulfil a new years resolution to do at least one random, quirky or spontaneous thing per month in order to make my life an average of 12 times more exciting than it was last year. Since then, I have, amongst other things, handmade 101 clay dalmations, 100 of which were released into the 'wild', complete with a hand-written, numbered, dalmation spotted tag showing the following message:

I’ve kept number 101 and he is called Steve because the first reply I received was from Steve. This is Steve (the dalmation):
