Dalmation Recipe Makes 101
Preparation time: Approx 15 hrs
Cooking time: 25-30min
Ingredients
68g Black Clay
1.14kg White Clay
1 Black Marker Pen
7 Sheets of White Card
1 Biro
1 Reel of cotton/string
- Roll a small amount of white clay into the shape of a dog’s head
- Make two small holes in the clay with a biro and fill with small specks of black clay. Use the biro to make an indent in each bit of black clay. These are the eyes
- Roll a small amount of black clay into a ball and attach to the front of the face. This is the nose.
- Attach 2 pieces of flat clay (black or white) to each side of the head. (ears)
- Next, start by rolling a larger amount of white into a dogs body shape with legs and a tail (hint- start with a sausage shape and go from there)
- Attach head to body
- Repeat 100 times
- Using a black marker pen, add spots to each dog
- Bake for 25-30 minutes at 200/gas mark 6
- Whilst dogs are cooling, cut card into tag shapes, decorate as appropriate (may I suggest with spots?) and punch a hole at one end
- Thread cotton/string through the holes in each tag and tie around each dalmation's neck to prevent them from being mistaken for strays
